Earning extra money is one of the best emotions in the world – and earning cash prizes from your unique credit cards. How to earn money and Redeem It from credit card
If you use your credit cards responsibly – which means paying your balance in full and on a monthly basis – a refund can be a great tool for earning rewards in your daily purchases. Americans spend an average of $ 4,874 on their credit cards each month, according to data from Personal Capital. If you earn a 2% refund on all purchases, that would add up to $ 1,170 per annum refund.
And how can those rewards be redeemed? Everything from gift cards to your favorite retailer, free money in your bank account, and even a discounted holiday – so you can buy the everyday goods and services you would buy anyway.
You do not want to miss out on the opportunity to make a living by using your credit card. Here’s what you need to know about how credit card rewards return, how to add them, and the best credit cards that give you the most money.
What Are the Rewards of a Credit Card Rewards?
“Rewarded prizes come in the form of dollars or points from credit card companies or banks for their products,” said Grant Sabatier, author of the world’s best-selling book “Financial Freedom” and founder of BankBonus.com.
“You can think of [the refund] as a refund for customers when they make purchases using their credit cards,” said Maya Nijhawan, a credit card specialist and founder and CMO of Finch’s financial app. “That refund is usually a percentage of the money spent.”
While some cards may reward their users with a direct refund of a deposit into a user’s account, others may offer points rewards for multiple redemption options. Points act as a refund and are usually used for a currency exchange of about 1 cents per point, although the exact redemption options may vary depending on the issuer. Therefore, 100 points is usually the equivalent of a dollar.
Points can often be used for a refund, but also for other options such as gift cards or free travel. Generally, card members can book a trip directly through the credit card provider’s online website or forward their points to flight or hotel partners. “One of the best ways to increase your spending is to, when you’re traveling, actually transfer those points to the plane where you want to book a flight,” Sabatier said.

How Does Cash Back Work?
Generally, you earn cash whenever you buy with a credit card. Some cards may offer additional acceptance where you can receive additional cash bonus or additional points if you meet certain purchasing requirements within the allotted time.
There are usually three ways to earn cash prizes on the money you spend, depending on Sabatier: minimum value for all purchases, categories of prize categories, and categories of prizes around.
Low rate refund cards give a percentage of your purchase as cash in your card balance or in your bank account. For example, if you spend $ 1,000 on a 2% flat refund card, you will earn $ 20 no matter what type you buy.
Meanwhile, a credit card with fixed prizes may offer 3% cash on food, 2% gas refund, and 1% rebate on everything else. These cards tend to offer a higher prize value than a limited refund for certain categories, but a lower purchase rate does not fall into one of the higher prize categories.
Cards with round prize categories work the same way for prize cards with non-changing categories, except that the categories that offer the highest prize category are constantly changing. For example, the card may offer a 5% refund to grocery stores during the first quarter of the year and 5% back to home improvement stores for the second time. Sometimes you have to choose to enter each category of prizes around every time we change.
If you have a refund card with categories of prizes around, “it may sometimes be beneficial to go to [your card issuer’s] website and look at the prize calendar,” says Nijhawan. “Most of the time [the issuer] will publish things in advance. That could give you a chance to plan ahead and increase your rewards. ”
Combining Cash Back Rewards Cards
It would be a good idea to combine multiple credit cards and use them for different stages of spending. You may have one card that wins cash prizes on the trip and one that wins cash on a purchase, for example. How to earn money and Redeem It from a credit card
“I think it is really helpful to have a card that I call ‘when in doubt’,” said Nijhawan. “This is a card with a high refund for all other purchases. And that way, if your spending doesn’t fall into the category of high-stakes credit card debt, you can be confident that your spending will still benefit you as much as possible. ”
The best way to increase your prize can be to make sure that the card you sign up for offers a prize plan similar to how you spend your money and lifestyle while filling out some of the cards you have in your wallet. For example, you would not want to have three refund cards with food-based reward frames if you never ate out. Make sure you use cards that will really reward you for your daily use.
Many credit card prizes come with an annual fee, which is important to consider when calculating the amount of prizes you will receive per year. If you expect to earn $ 30 a month in prizes, for example, make sure you deduct the annual fee from your annual estimates. Some annual cash cards may offer additional benefits or a higher subscription bonus that covers expenses, but there are also many cards that offer great prizes and non-annual cash benefits.
How Do I Use It And How Do I Use My Money Back Guaranteed?
To use your refund or points, you usually have several options:
Credit Credit – The refund will be credited to your account as a statement credit, reducing your subsequent credit card debt.
Bank account deposit – the refund will be credited to your bank account as cash.
Gift Cards – You can use your money back or points as gift cards to various merchants. The exact choice will depend on your credit card reward system.
Travel and entertainment – some of the award-winning programs allow you to use your points to book a trip (including airfare, hotels, rental cars, and more) as well as specific information about their website. Some may even allow you to transfer your points to award-winning corporate airline programs or hotel chains.
Although the rescue options vary, here are some common steps you should take to make the most of your prize:
Check your prize balance by logging in to your credit card issuer’s website.
Click on the prize rescue portfolio and review the options available. This may include a credit card, gift cards, direct deposit, or travel booking.
Calculate which redemption option will get the largest number of your points. For example, Chase Ultimate Rewards points are usually more valuable when you book a trip through Chase Portal, instead of using points on your balance. The conversion rate is about 1.25 to 1.5 cents per point, compared to 1 cent per 1 point.
Use your prizes with the option that is most important to you based on your needs.

Are Refunds Payable?
In most cases, credit card refunds are tax-free, as you have to spend money to get the prizes.
“The IRS actually considers [refunds] as a coupon or a discount,” Sabatier said. This applies to both regular prizes and subscription bonuses that require you to meet a certain spending limit.
“Counting [like taxable income] when you get a bonus do nothing,” added Sabatier. For example, if you earn extra points by sending a friend but you do not have to spend anything to get those prizes, you will need to pay taxes on those earnings.
